Graham Hollins
Key skills: sales, marketing, brand management and sponsorship training - business french and spanish speaker 
Based in London

Graham has over 20 years of commercial marketing experience developed with a number of multi-national companies, including Unilever, L'Oreal and GSK (GlaxoSmithKline).  Additionally, he has specific experience from over six years working on all three sides of the sponsorship ‘triangle’; as a sponsor, in an agency and as a rights holder.

Much of his work involved entering new markets and exploring new opportunities, whether for a large companies such as L’Oreal’s entry into men’s haircare in the UK, or Unilever Foods new products and new distribution channels in Australia, or smaller companies such as Twinings trying to expand into new market segments for growth.  He has also helped several small sports organisations to grow against larger competitors.

Graham is a qualified business trainer specialising in marketing, management and sponsorship.  His engaging and energetic style is put to full use running training sessions for groups from 12 to 120, as well as facilitating solution-based workshops for small project teams. 

Graham works with companies on all aspects of strategic marketing and implementation; from insight to brand positioning, new product development and marketing communications.  He has lectured at the Chartered Institute of Marketing, including on the Marketing of Sports for small sports organisations.

Graham has developed and delivered a range of customised learning programmes for a wide range of clients, including: Hewlett Packard (EMEA, North America, Asia-Pacific), Sony Europe, Nokia UK, Philips Electronics, InterContinental Hotels Group, Nestlé UK, FIFA, Olympic Games, English Premier League Football, AstraZeneca, Pfizer Carlsberg and SAB Miller.  His business training career has taken him to every continent and over 40 countries worldwide.

James McBrien

Based in London 



James focuses on communication strategy and coaching.  His strengths lie in unlocking the natural personality of individuals when they communicate, in order to make them more engaging and effective.  James has spent a substantial part of his career working with CEOs and middle management groups in the UK, France, Hong Kong, Canada, Dubai and South Africa.  These clients have included: ABN Amro, Apax Partners, BBC, Hunton & Williams, Perot Systems, Royal Bank of Scotland, Shell International, UBS and Visa International.  

Prior to becoming a consultant, James facilitated performance-raising culture change programmes with The Pacific Institute after serving as an officer in the British Army for five years.  During his time in the military, James served on operational tours in Northern Ireland and Bosnia.  Whilst in Bosnia he was responsible for briefing senior military officers on media issues and co-ordinating the international media coverage of the first post-war elections.

James specialises in business development, negotiation, pitch/presentation, interview coaching and media training.  He has delivered management training courses and seminars for over 15 years across Europe and Middle East for companies, governments, institutions and business schools.

After four years military service in the British Army during the mid-1990s, James started his training career with Kingstree Group, delivering negotiation and pitch/presentation training for most of the City of London’s financial and professional service firms.  This included work on board-level presentations, AGMs and IPO roadshow presentations.

In 2007 James co-founded Cadogan Consulting.  During this time he also served in the Media Operations Group, British Army Reserve Forces, where his role included instructing commanders on media interview techniques, messaging and media handling.  

James has delivered hundreds of workshops and seminars, has worked with thousands of companies and individuals on how they develop business, pitch, negotiate, present and interview, and has a keen interest in how people tell stories.  Clients have included: Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Investcorp, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Orange/France Telecom, and Cass, Imperial College, London and Warwick Business Schools. 

James holds a Batchelor's degree from Brown University (USA) and afterwards attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (UK) prior to starting his military and professional career.  He qualified as a Registered Representative with the SFA.

Lynn McBain

Based in London


Lynn has 30 years experience in sales and marketing.  She is also passionate about learning and development and, as such, regularly combines the three disciplines by working with clients to develop and deliver bespoke development programmes for employees.  Lynn has worked with a large variety of organisations including Microsoft, Vodafone, KPMG, Sony and Bacardi Martini to develop and implement marketing strategies, as well as build marketing L&D programmes.  She also works with universities developing degree programmes and lecturing in her core subjects, which include Customer Relationship Management.

Lynn has previously worked as a senior marketer with Reed Exhibitions and in sales for 3M Healthcare, AAH Pharmaceutical and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).  In her latter position at CIM she was also Director of Sales & Marketing leading a team of 50 employees.  Lynn has delivered all levels of the CIM qualifications from Introductory Certificate to Postgraduate level and is a qualified assessor.  She also delivered the CIM sales qualifications.

Lynn is experienced in relationship building and identifying strategic growth opportunities within major accounts.  Consultatively selling learning and development programmes into companies also means Lynn has experience in rapidly understanding a company’s strategy and related issues to provide solutions within budget.  As an example, Lynn was instrumental in setting up and managing the Global Microsoft Marketing Academy and growing the account by 400%.

Lewis Pugh

Lewis is also one of the world’s foremost leadership speakers, with TED describing him as "a master story teller”.  On their 125th anniversary, Coca-Cola asked Lewis to address their world-wide leadership team.  When Unilever decided to double their business and halve their environmental footprint, they chose Lewis to motivate their management team.  And when Lloyd’s Agency Network turned 200 years old, they asked Lewis to help them visualize their future in an increasingly unpredictable world. 

As an ocean advocate and a pioneer swimmer, Lewis puts his hard-learned lessons into the context of a corporate environment.  He shares the visualization that enabled him to undertake the first swim across the sub-zero waters of the North Pole.  And he shares the “radical tactical shift” that he used to complete the first swim across a glacial lake on Mt Everest.  Most importantly, he inspires people to reach for their dreams and achieve their own impossible.

Lewis has received France and South Africa's highest honours.  In 2011 he was inducted into the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame.  In 2013 he was appointed UN Patron of the Oceans.  In 2014 
he also addressed the business and political leaders assembled at the World Economic Forum in Davos.  And most recently, in 2015, he was named National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. 

Over 5 million people have viewed Lewis’s TED talks, and countless others have followed him on BBC, Good Morning America, CNN, Jon Stewart, National Geographic, Sky News, Al Jazeera, Jay Leno and more.  His two books “Achieving the Impossible” and “21 Yaks and a Speedo” were both bestsellers.  Lewis read law at the universities of Cape Town and Cambridge.

Ted Wainman

Based in London

Ted Wainman trained and qualified as an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) with Ernst & Young before joining JPMorgan on the Investment Management side of the business.  Whilst at JPMorgan, he undertook a company sponsored MBA in the International Management of Financial Services, from which he graduated at the top of his cohort with merit.

Since 2003 Ted has been designing, developing and delivering programmes for private sector companies (including those in the FTSE 100 and financial services) for a range of business needs.  Whether focussed on programmes to build awareness and detailed understanding around the financial drivers of their business, addressing new operational initiatives or supporting business change, Ted is experienced in working with key stakeholders within a business to construct training programmes that deliver sustained change.

With a background in finance, Ted specialises in financial and commercial training, but is also comfortable in  delivering training programmes on a broad variety of management skills.  Ted works globally across a wide range of business sectors, including companies in financial services, insurance and telecoms, and is experienced in addressing the needs of programmes across varying cultural backgrounds.  Ted is the author of How to Talk Finance: Getting to Grips with the Numbers in Business published by Pearson, the publishing arm of the Financial Times (UK).

David White

Based in London

David White is an experienced manager who has worked at a senior level in sales and marketing in the telecoms, consumer goods and financial services sectors.   He has been involved in training and management development for since the 1990s.

David specialises in leadership, management and communication.  He is a Visiting Academic at the University of London, where he teaches postgraduate leadership and management communication at Royal Holloway and King’s College.

David’s professional career began in sales and marketing where he worked in the automotive, food and chemical industries.  In the early 1980s he was a founder manager of BT’s pioneering venture into telemarketing, before setting up a database marketing agency in London.  His clients included organisations as varied as SAAB cars, Barclaycard and Aviva (as it is now).

David moved into leadership and management development work in the 1990s.  For what is now JP Morgan Asset Management he created a ground-breaking 2 year graduate leadership programme leading to a diploma. This concept was developed further into an in-house MBA programme for the JP Morgan asset management business.

David works on ongoing projects with the Institute of Direct Marketing and the School of Management at Royal Holloway, University of London, where he has created teaching and research services that generate significant external income for the University.  David has co-developed an award winning certificate leadership programme for Reed Learning and continues to lecture and deliver training in innovation, leadership and management.  He appears in podcasts and is an eLearning tutor for the University of London external programme.
